Cynthia Waugh, PhD
Cynthia is a passionate educator who has spent most of her career either teaching children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or training others to do so.
After more than 20 years as an educator she left public education to pursue a PhD in Applied Psychology and Human Development at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (OISE/UT). Her dissertation involved the development and evaluation of an intervention targeting Theory of Mind (ToM) and friendship-making skills for children with high-functioning ASD.
Cynthia now divides her time between social skills groups (The Friendship Lab™), consulting to school boards, educators and parents, and teaching at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto (OISE/UT).
